2017 NATIONAL MEDIA TOUR OF MACADAMIA INDUSTRY

The Australian macadamia industry hosted a national tour in the Northern Rivers.

Growers, Ken Dorey, Peter Fraser, Tony Flick, Mason Roy and Bob and Judy Howard, spent five minutes with each journalist during a "speed dating session" at Henri Bader's orchard.

The tour included:

  • a visit to Macadamia Oils of Australia,
  • a cooking demonstration and lunch,
  • a macadamia feast at The Byron at Byron Resort with head chef, Gavin Hughes, and
  • a farewell Brookies Byron Dry Gin and Tonic at Cape Byron Distillery, which uses macadamias in the distilling process.
