Plan Bee: mapping biodiversity and monitoring native bee heath to improve production

2018 | Maginnity S

Article

In 2018 the Lismore City Council partnered with the Australian Native Bee Company on a project to improve biodiversity on macadamia orchards. One of the aims of the project is to maintain and improve the health of native bees in orchards while at the same time improving productivity for growers, in part through more successful pollination. A tool in this project is using drones to identify species on farms as a way of producing biodiversity maps.
