A warm welcome to Laura Davies, who joined the AMS in September as our new Market Development Manager, helping promote Australian-grown macadamias internationally.
With family farming roots, extensive international trade expertise and a research-driven approach, Laura brings a blend of strategic marketing vision and hands-on agricultural understanding to the role.
Most recently, Laura served as International Trade Manager for Seafood Industry Australia, focusing on market re-entry for Australian Rock Lobsters into China, delivering export diversification programs, securing government grants and developing the inaugural National Seafood Statistics Handbook.
She previously managed commercial trading of Australian table grape and citrus exports to Asia, led the international Taste Australia Retail Marketing program at Hort Innovation and began her Australian career as Brand Manager at Perfection Fresh's Calypso Mango venture.
Laura holds an Agri-business degree from Newcastle University and is a 2026 Nuffield Scholar researching Australian agriculture export diversification strategies.
She grew up in Shropshire, UK where her family farms potatoes and broad acre crops. Laura moved to Sydney ten years ago to pursue a career in agriculture and is now an Australian citizen.
Since joining AMS, Laura has hit the ground running - travelling to every growing region in her first month to meet with growers, processors and industry partners. Laura enjoys getting her boots on to visit the farmers on property to whom she proudly represents.
"I am honoured to join the Australian Macadamia Society and contribute to the growth and resilience of our industry," says Laura. "I'm excited to bring this blend of international trade expertise and grassroots agricultural experience to the Australian macadamia industry."
Laura takes over from Jacqui Price, who has expertly led the industry’s global marketing and development initiatives over the past five years.

Laura Davies has previously worked in seafood, table grapes, citrus and mangoes.
