New trees, trial site, sorting shed and more…

Shareholders suppliers and friends of Suncoast Gold are invited to attend the Bundaberg Macadamia farm tour on 11 February 2021.  We will be visiting a number of locations where growers are trialing and implementing a range of new technologies and production methods to keep their macadamia businesses growing and flourishing into the future.  This is a unique opportunity to come along, learn, ask questions and take away ideas to improve your own operation.

Join the bus at Gympie or Welcome Creek to visit a number of farms in the Bundaberg area, which is the largest and fastest growing macadamia region in the country.  The tour will start with a look through Geoff Chivers sorting facility which has been fitted out with KEBA tyre dehusker and a range of updated equipment.  Then a tour of Graham and Maree Dahls new planting at Bucca, a visit to a macadamia nursery and finally a visit of the trial site at Red Rock Macadamias.  At the trial site we will hear from a number of consultants and service providers who are working together to collaborate on an industry first project, focused on Stress Mitigation in Macadamia which is also showcasing some of the industries most advanced technological solutions.

8.00 am – Meet at SGM Factory, Gympie for those travelling on the bus

10.30 am – Tour starts at Geoff Chivers’ farm – cars can be left here.

Bus will leave the first site for the next farm at 11.30 am

Lunch will be provided

4.00 pm – Tour finishes back at Geoff Chivers farm at Welcome Creek 

4.15 pm Bus returns to Gympie to arrive at approx 6.30 pm

COVID-19 information – The event will run as a COVID Safe event.  RSVP is essential for anyone wishing to attend and measures including social distancing will apply on the day, as such numbers will be limited.
