We all know this season has been incredibly challenging for our industry, as a whole and for individual growers. Whilst anecdotal feedback suggests some strengthening of demand and improving price indicators, some uncertainty remains as the industry adapts and we move into a new crop season.
The many business decisions that will need to be made over coming months is sure to place further strain on many growers and industry members. To ensure our macadamia community is well supported, we’d like to invite you to participate in a free half-day Mental Health Awareness workshop.
Workshop outline
These informal workshops include selected material from the Nationally Accredited Mental Health First Aid Course and will be delivered by Rural Adversity Mental Health Program (RAMHP) coordinators. The free workshops include morning tea and lunch, plus resources.
Who should attend?
Growers, grower liaison officers, consultants, contractors, and frontline staff who are coming into contact with growers and industry members every day.
What you will learn
- about the signs and symptoms of mental health problems;
- how to approach someone you are concerned about;
- how to initiate a conversation about those concerns, offer initial support and information;
- and how to encourage someone to get professional help.
