How has South Africa overcome major challenges to become the world’s largest macadamia producer?
Come along to this very special video information evening with our industry development manager Leoni Kojetin and a selection of growers who participated in the recent AMS study tour to South Africa.
The team will share their insights, show video taken on the tour, and explore some of the key learnings for Australian growers including:
- Orchard management operations including canopy management
- Crop management strategies and innovative farming practices
- Irrigation advancement and efficiency
- Nursery practices and new varieties
- New plantings and increased processing capacity
- The economics of growing macadamia in South Africa and unique payment system.
This event will follow the tree water relations orchard tour. It’s the perfect opportunity to grab a bite to eat and a drink at the end of a long day, and chat with growers who participated in the study tour.
Delegates can order drinks/dinner at the venue (at own cost). Video starts at 5.30pm.
This event is open to AMS members and levy payers only.
