Critical connections forged in India

One of India’s largest nut importers, Candor Foods, visited Australia in late April to gain a better understanding of the Australian macadamia industry.

Our market development manager Jacqui Price co-hosted the visit, which included meetings with the AMS, processors and tours of both the Bundaberg and Northern Rivers growing regions.

It follows Jacqui’s visit to India in March to explore market opportunities for Australian-grown macadamias. As the next major market for our product, it was an important visit that included meetings with major importers, high profile chefs, large retailers and institutional customers regarding ingredient opportunities. Jacqui also attended AAHAR, India’s largest food trade show in Delhi that attracted more than 1,500 exhibitors from 18 countries.

Our recent priority has been working with the Federal Department of Agriculture in engagement between the Australian and Indian Governments on technical market access protocols that will enable us to take maximum advantage of the FTA and create more opportunities for Australian macadamias.
