An Australian Macadamia Festival will take place in India later this year thanks to a new Queensland Government grant designed to grow international exports of outstanding Queensland produce. 

The Australian macadamia industry has been selected by the Queensland Government as one of 8 industry partners for its Food and Fibre to Market: Industry Partnerships Program (FF2M). 

The government and industry partnerships will see a total of $600,000 provided to FF2M industry partners to co-fund supply chain and market development projects. The projects seek to strengthen and deepen the shared knowledge and expertise of Queensland’s agricultural supply chain partners - growers; exporters, importers and retailers. 

This government and industry partnership will enable the development and implementation of the inaugural Australian Macadamia Festival in India. Taking place later this year, the Festival will create a platform to showcase the sensory, health and versatility benefits of Australian grown macadamias to Indian trading partners, chefs and consumers. It will build on the foundational market development work we have been undertaking in this market, which recently saw two of India’s largest nut importers visiting Australia to gain a better understanding of the Australian macadamia industry (pictured below).
