AMS advocates for key industry priorities with Minister Tony Perrett

As part of AMS's ongoing advocacy efforts, CEO Ben Baldwin and Chair Mark Napper recently met with Queensland Minister for Primary Industries Tony Perrett to discuss opportunities and challenges facing the Australian macadamia industry.

The introductory meeting covered a range of important issues, including varroa mite and strengthening biosecurity preparedness, supporting ongoing macadamia research and development, and creating an investment environment that enables the industry to grow and thrive.

Discussions highlighted the value of the research being delivered by Agri-Science Queensland and the importance of maintaining long-term capability and expertise that delivers direct benefits to growers and the wider industry.

The Minister also reaffirmed the Queensland Government's commitment to Paradise Dam, recognising its importance to regional communities and agriculture.

AMS looks forward to working closely with government and stakeholders to ensure the needs of growers and industry members remain front of mind.
