Nominate Australia's best and most innovative macadamia growers


Nominations to recognise Australia’s best and most innovative macadamia growers and industry representatives through the industry’s Awards of Excellence are now open.

The Australian macadamia industry has long been committed to the pursuit of excellence, from practices adopted on farm, to post-harvest practices and quality of the end product to manufacturers and consumers. 

The awards program aims to encourage industry growth and development in an exciting and positive way by acknowledging individuals and macadamia businesses who have made an outstanding contribution in any sector, contributed a new and beneficial industry innovation and an outstanding achievement by a young person (aged under 40 years).

NOMINATIONS FOR THE BELOW AWARDS ARE NOW OPEN AND CLOSE 5PM MON 30 SEPTEMBER 2024.

Both the nominee and proposer must be financial members of the Australian Macadamia Society. Winners will be announced at AusMac2024 to be held 29-31 October, on the Gold Coast.


Norman R. Greber OAM Memorial Trophy

Nominations for this award should outline how the nominee has made an outstanding contribution to the Australian macadamia industry in any sector.

Macadamia Industry Young Achiever Award

Nominations for this award should outline the following:

a) how the nominee has been actively engaged in the macadamia industry at a level that requires some individual initiative (growing, consulting, research, processing, exporting, marketing & sales, etc) 

AND/OR

b) how the nominee has actively participated in industry events and shown creativity, innovation and/or leadership in their field

AND/OR 

c) how the nominee has contributed to improving the industry via: improved production/grower returns/environmental outcomes, cost reduction, or by positively showcasing the industry to the community.

Macadamia Industry Innovation Award

Nominations for this award should outline how the nominee has introduced an innovation, new idea or perspective into the industry. Outline how the innovation has shown:

a) originality

b) ease of adoption

c) benefit to the industry.

Macadamia Industry Production Awards

Finalists and winners in the regional awards will be shortlisted by the QDAF Benchmarking Team using yield and quality data collected from the 2023 season. Read about the 2023 production award winners here.
